The Shabby Tea Room

This pretty little card was inspired by the following teapot image at The Shabby Tea Room.  The Shabby Tea Room is a newer challenge blog with some great ideas and inspiration. The owner also sells some really beautful vinatage ribbon on Etsy that I plan on ordering sometime in the near future. I used an older SU! set, I think it's called Toile Flowers or something thereabouts, for the image. The image was embossed and colored with Copic Markers and though it's hard to see from the picture, the two flowers were stamed a second time, colored, cut out, and mounted using dimesionals for some "pop"! The patterned paper comes form SEI's Juliette and Chocolate Collections. Both lines are gorgeous!

Isn't this a lovely teapot? One of my nightly rituals af ter the kids go to sleep, is a cup of tea in one of my three favorite tea cups. My grandmother collected them and now I'm following in her footsteps... Miss you grandma...

Mojo Monday 142

Look at me! I am actually posting 2 days in a row...Lets see if I can keep it up!

This is my entry for Mojo Monday #142. I found that I haven't been usong very many of my Stampin' Up! sets lately; I've been hooked on my C.C. Design stamps and TGF stamps. So I decided to try to use at least one today, since I have soooo many SU! sets. This is one of my favorite sets, Happy Harmony, because it have several of the most beautifully inspirational sayings and quotes.  The background paper is another one of those thats been tucked away in my paper stash and hasn't seen light in awhile and I'm pretty sure that I got it from Island scrapbooking. The butterflies are from one of SU!'s Sizzix dies and of course I had to find away to incorporate some pretty Prima flowers. Its kind of hard to see but this card is covered in glitter and shimmer!

A Birthday Wish Scrapbook Layout

Here is a layout that I put together called "Birthday Wish". I just love creating girlie L/O's; I get to use tons of flowers from my flower stash and all kinds of pretties! I had such a hard time not adding more and more flowers. Everytime I stepped back to look at it I found a blank spot begging to be covered with flowers...LOL. There are three photo mats available for special photos and although each mat is accented with ribbon or flowers, I have left enough room to slide a photo underneath the embellishments. Here is a look at the left page:


I printed out a birthday poem, cut it with my Nestabilities and stippled the edges to give a touch of softness. The cake and balloon poodle were hand-drawn and hand-cut. Peeking out from behind the cake is one of my own tear bears. I left this one gender neutral.

The second page features my little girl tear bear, another balloon animal and paper-pieced presents. It's hard to see from this pic but the large present out front is dimensional and opens like a book for journaling or more pictures. There is also a pull out tag for more journaling under the right-hand photo mat. Can you see the stitching on the photo mats and along the borders? I can't possibly have a scrapbook page without any sewing!

I love how adorable my little tear bear looks. I had such a great time creating her outfit and coordinating it with this L/O.

Don't know what a tear bear is? It's a bear that has been torn out of extra thick mulberry paper, and pieced together with or with out any special patterns. I have created my own patterns for my bears and each outfit is one of kind, just like my L/O. I rarerly if ever create two similar L/O's and no two are ever exactly alike...each spread is a OOAK (one of a kind) creation!

Tomorrow I will be putting this L/O up for auction on ebay. Its been a while since I had my L/O's posted on ebay so wish me luck! I hope you enjoyed my scrapbook creation and post. Tinkerbell Birthday Wishes

I made this card this morning for a friends' daughter who celebrated her 4th birthday today. Since my gifts to her were all Tink themed I had no choice but to try to make my own coordinating card, right? The closest image I had to Tink was this stamp from The Greeting Farm, Fleur Anya, but I think it worked out pretty well. I also found some Disney Tinkerbell paper in my stash that I probably got over a year ago and forgot all about. The card measures 5.5 x 5.5 and has a base made out of SU! Orchid Opulence. I layered it with the Tinkerbell Flowe Paper and cut a strip of purple from one of the Best Creations Once Upon A Time papers. The image was heat embossed, colored with Copic Markers and cut using Nestabilities. The card is finished off with Prima flowers, a punched sentiment and lots of stickles.

This was definitely one of my more simpler cards; my sewing machine broke its last needle this morning and I didn't have time to run to Wally-World to pick up more. I do find that sewing makes my projects feel more complete and finished, but that 's only my opinion. On the way home I picked up more needles so I won't feel so incomplete...LOL!
